Chris and Sarah held an elegant Ethereal Open Air Resort wedding in Escondido, California this past May. It was beautiful, classic, and yes, ethereal, to say the least. Two years ago, we documented Tyler and Krista’s wedding at another beautiful San Diego wedding venue. That was where we first met Chris and Sarah, as Sarah was sister to the groom! We were suuuper stoked when Sarah reached out to us about her own wedding because we knew this was going to be a stylish and heartfelt affair. We were even more excited when we found out that we’d get to spend some time with them before the wedding at their home in Philadelphia, PA! The stars and schedules aligned for us to be able to shoot their engagement session in Philadelphia, which was sooo fun! It was our first time touring the city and we had the BEST guides. It seems like such a charming place to be in love and it was amazing to be able to get to know Chris and Sarah during our laid back shoot. Getting to know our couples is so important to our creative process. It’s our goal to create something unique and personal for each and every one of clients and our ability to do that starts with creating friendships with our clients before the cameras even come into play. We want to know what they love about their partners, what makes them smile, what memories will matter most to them one day. We use that knowledge to guide our image making on the day of the wedding. One of the best ways we get to know our couples is through our engagement sessions. This takes the spook out of camera-shyness and almost always our clients can’t believe how easy and fun it is to spend an afternoon with us behind the camera while they just be themselves in front of it. This is the same philosophy we take on a wedding day; just have fun, be yourself, savor the moment…we promise to savor it with you. We want to tell the story honestly, from your perspective and highlight the moments that make you catch your breath.
The day of Chris and Sarah’s wedding was beautiful, overcast, and perfect for the dreamy affair they had planned. Everything fell into place exactly as it should, and the rain held off until precisely the right time. The details were fresh and modern, highlighting the garden atmosphere. It was all a perfect backdrop for the main show, Chris and Sarah’s effervescent love. We loved this day.
